Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the employment matching platform operated by the Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon (TIAY) and developed by Bizont. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

2. Who Can Use the Platform

Job Seekers: High school students, post-secondary students, and tourism professionals who are seeking employment opportunities.
Employers: Businesses verified as TIAY members or approved partner organizations.
Users must provide accurate information when registering and keep their accounts up to date.

3. Purpose of the Platform

The platform is designed to connect job seekers with employers in the Yukon tourism industry. TIAY and Bizont act only as facilitators. We do not:

Guarantee employment opportunities,
Control communications or contracts between job seekers and employers, or
Assume responsibility for workplace disputes.

4. User Responsibilities

When using the platform, you agree to:

Use the platform only for lawful purposes related to employment.
Not misuse, scrape, copy, or resell information found on the platform.
Respect the confidentiality of candidate and employer information.
Not harass, discriminate against, or harm other users.
Immediately notify us of any suspected misuse or security issue.

5. Employer-Specific Obligations

Employers must:

Provide proof of business registration or licensing (YCOR, municipal permit, or equivalent).
Use candidate information only for legitimate hiring purposes.
Keep candidate data confidential and secure.
Follow the Employer Code of Conduct (incorporated into these Terms).

6. Privacy and Consent

Use of the platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. Job seekers must consent to share their profiles with all TIAY members and approved partners. Employers must agree to handle candidate data responsibly.

7. Intellectual Property

Users retain ownership of the content they submit (e.g., resumes, profiles, job postings).
By submitting content, you grant TIAY and Bizont a limited license to use it for operating the platform and fulfilling program objectives.
Platform design, code, and branding remain the property of TIAY and Bizont.

8. Limitation of Liability

TIAY and Bizont provide the platform “as is” without warranties of any kind.
We are not responsible for employment outcomes, contracts, or workplace disputes.
Our liability to any user is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

Provide false information,
Misuse the platform, or
Violate these Terms or applicable laws.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with the date of the update. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the new Terms.
